The Nursery Part 1

Come molti di voi sapranno, ci siamo trasferiti in un altro appartamento, in modo di dare a Sophie il suo spazio (e noi riprenderci il nostro!). Piano piano (non e' sempre facile trovare tempo con una bambina di 13 mesi che corre per casa) cercando di trasformare l'office in una accogliente nursery.Il primo passo è pitturare le pareti ... Una nursery con pareti bianche e senza finestre, non è molto attraente ... Ci hanno chiesto $300 per fare il lavoro. Lo abbiamo fatto da soli per meno di $100.Abbiamo provato molti campioni (rosa chiaro, rosa troppo chiaro, giallo, giallo troppo giallo, pesca, troppo pesca ...) e alla fine abbiamo optato per questo giallo. Primo passo fatto. Ora, abbiamo bisogno di pulire la stanza, decorare, e trasferirla nella camera nuova!

As you may know, we moved to another apartment in order to give Sophie her own space (and get back ours!). We are, little by little, since it isn't always easy to find some free time with a 13 months old baby running around, trying to fix the office and turn it into a cozy nursery.
The first step is painting the walls... A nursery with white plain walls and no windows is not very appealing... They asked us for $300 to do the job. We did it for less then $100.
We tried many samples (light pink, too light pink, yellow, too bright yellow, peach, too peachy...) and ended up with this one yellow. First step done. Now, we need to clean up the room, start decorating, and move her in!

Insalata di Riso

Being far from home makes me crave italian food! So this is an english-only post since i hope all you italians know how to do Insalata di Riso!!!
This is a typical summer dish, fast and easy to do. It's called Insalata di Riso (Rice Salad). It would be even easier to do it if we were in Italy, since in the supermarkets there they have a can called "Condiriso" and that has everything you need in it - just add your personal touches! Everyone does it in a different way.. some add cheese, mayo.. i am not a fan of those additions!
Here is my version, buit from my memories of when my mom used to do it!

• White long grain rice, boiled as if it was pasta (bring water to boil in a large saucepan and salt then add rice)
• When cooked (10mins approx) drain and let cool
•  Add fresh tomatoes in pieces, sweet corn, cornichons, tuna, green pitted olives (cut in 2) and artichoke hearts
• Add secret ingredient (a little bit of worcestershire sauce)
• Stir!

Cover and keep in the fridge. Take out of the fridge approx 30 min before you are going to eat it, or it will be too cold and you won't be able to taste all the different ingredients!

Ho usato spesso qusto colore d'inverno, ma ad essere sincera, anche per l'estate non e' niente male! Soprattutto sui piedi!

I've used this color a lot during the past winter, but i must admit, i really like in the summer too! Specially on my toes!

Essie Summer Collection 2010

E' arrivata la collezione estiva di Essie! Corallo, verde.. Belli da vedere ma non penso che sono colori che userei, e il malva mi sembra piu' adatto all'inverno, no? Staremo a vedere cosa decidero' questo weekend (provare per credere!), quando andro' con mia sorella a fare mani/pedi! Voi che ne pensate, li mettereste? 

Essie's Summer Collection is here! Corals, green .. They look cute but I don't think I would use them, and the mauve looks more for the cold weather to me! We'll see what i pick this weekend, when I go with my sister to our mani / pedi session! What about you, would you wear these colors?

Questa serie sarà la cronaca di Carrie Bradshaw liceale. Il primo libro tratta di un conflitto con la madre di Carrie, la sua prima cotta e perche' Carrie decide di diventare una scrittrice.

Oggi e' il mio compleanno! Si passa la collinetta e arrivo (era ora come dice Frankie!!!) a 30! Avevo un'idea in mente, quando ero piccola... arrivare a 30 anni con un marito, almeno una figlia e vivere negli Stati Uniti. Queste cose si sono tutte avverate. Grazie Frankie! Ah e grazie delle bellisssssime scarpe!!!! Love you ♡

Today's my birthday! Finally (as Frankie always says!) i turn 30! I had an idea in mind, when I was little... have a husband, at least one daughter and live in the United States by when i was thirty. These things all became true. Thanks Frankie! Oh and thanks for the awesome shoes!!! Love you ♡

Ciao! Avete passato un buon weekend? Tornando dal lavoro venerdi sera avevo proprio voglia di un dolcetto.. quindi Frankie ed ioci siamo ferati da Crumbs a prendere un cupcake.. o due.. :-)

Molti dei miei Followers non parlano italiano e mi hanno chiesto di fare i post anche in inglese.. vediamo cosa riesco a fare! Da domani si parte ufficialmente in due lingue! Yuhuu!

Many of my Followers do not speak Italian so they asked me to make posts in English .. i'll see what I can do! From tomorrow we start officially in two languages! Yay!

Carrie on!

Eccole! Le Newyorkers piu' famose del mondo! Tra un paio di mesi al cinema arriva il seguito di SATC! Se siete curiose, qui trovate il trailer!!! Non vedo l'ora di vedere come si vestira' Carrie.. e i drammi che ci saranno! Forza forza! Esce il 28 Maggio!!!!

Finalmente si riparte!

Con un po di timore vi annuncio che sono tornata!

Scusate l'assenza ... ma diciamo che sono stata piuttosto occupata in questi ultimi mesi! Non so se lo sapevate ma ero incinta e la piccola Sophie e' arrivata con 3 settimane di anticipo, il 22 maggio per essere precisi e da quel giorno e' stata tutta una corsa!!!

Essere mamma e' bellissimo, molto stancante, soprattutto se come qui in america devi tornare al lavoro dopo solo 6 settimane di maternita (8 se hai fatto il cesareo, come nel mio caso)..
La piccola e' al nido e si e' subito trovata benissimo! Io sono tranquilla e soddisfatta della mia scelta di tornare al lavoro subito. Ho notato che li ha piu stimoli, e si diverte tantissimo!
Qualcuno di voi a dei figli?

Ora sta mettendo i primi dentini, ma per fortuna non sembra avere male alle gengive.. che dire, e' una bambina bravissima!
