Zara to open Online Shop Soon!

Finalmente la notizia del mese! Zara ha deciso di aprire il sito all'online shopping! Non vedo l'ora, spero si possano anche acquistare capi per Baby che qui a Ny sono introvabili!!!!  A quando l'evento il 2 Settembre!

Finally Zara decided to open there website to online shopping! Can't wait! I wonder why it took them so long.. Hopefully we'll be able to purchase baby stuff too! When can you start shopping? September 2! Woohoo!

EDIT: Il sito e' stato aggiornato e pare che sia possibile fare shopping online solo da alcuni paesi d'europa... niente Us... uff :-(

The Nursery Part 1

Come molti di voi sapranno, ci siamo trasferiti in un altro appartamento, in modo di dare a Sophie il suo spazio (e noi riprenderci il nostro!). Piano piano (non e' sempre facile trovare tempo con una bambina di 13 mesi che corre per casa) cercando di trasformare l'office in una accogliente nursery.Il primo passo è pitturare le pareti ... Una nursery con pareti bianche e senza finestre, non è molto attraente ... Ci hanno chiesto $300 per fare il lavoro. Lo abbiamo fatto da soli per meno di $100.Abbiamo provato molti campioni (rosa chiaro, rosa troppo chiaro, giallo, giallo troppo giallo, pesca, troppo pesca ...) e alla fine abbiamo optato per questo giallo. Primo passo fatto. Ora, abbiamo bisogno di pulire la stanza, decorare, e trasferirla nella camera nuova!

As you may know, we moved to another apartment in order to give Sophie her own space (and get back ours!). We are, little by little, since it isn't always easy to find some free time with a 13 months old baby running around, trying to fix the office and turn it into a cozy nursery.
The first step is painting the walls... A nursery with white plain walls and no windows is not very appealing... They asked us for $300 to do the job. We did it for less then $100.
We tried many samples (light pink, too light pink, yellow, too bright yellow, peach, too peachy...) and ended up with this one yellow. First step done. Now, we need to clean up the room, start decorating, and move her in!

Insalata di Riso

Being far from home makes me crave italian food! So this is an english-only post since i hope all you italians know how to do Insalata di Riso!!!
This is a typical summer dish, fast and easy to do. It's called Insalata di Riso (Rice Salad). It would be even easier to do it if we were in Italy, since in the supermarkets there they have a can called "Condiriso" and that has everything you need in it - just add your personal touches! Everyone does it in a different way.. some add cheese, mayo.. i am not a fan of those additions!
Here is my version, buit from my memories of when my mom used to do it!

• White long grain rice, boiled as if it was pasta (bring water to boil in a large saucepan and salt then add rice)
• When cooked (10mins approx) drain and let cool
•  Add fresh tomatoes in pieces, sweet corn, cornichons, tuna, green pitted olives (cut in 2) and artichoke hearts
• Add secret ingredient (a little bit of worcestershire sauce)
• Stir!

Cover and keep in the fridge. Take out of the fridge approx 30 min before you are going to eat it, or it will be too cold and you won't be able to taste all the different ingredients!

Discovering New York

Lo scorso weekend, tornando da un pranzo di compleanno, ci siamo ritrovati davanti un negozio alquanto interessante.  Si chiama fisch for the hip e lo definirei un negozio dell'usato di alto rango. Ci potete trovare da Louboutins a borse di Chanel e valigie vintage LV ad accessori e gioielli di hermes a tanto altro.. tutto praticamente nuovo! Penso che questo come altri negozi simili si siano proprio riempiti di merce durante la recessione... La cosa migliore da fare e farci un salto ogni tanto e chissa' magari troverete un affarone!

Last weekend, on our way back from a birthday lunch we found a very interesting store. The name is fisch for the hip and it is a high end consignment store. You can find Louboutins, Chanel bags, accessories, LV vintage suitcases (everything in very good conditions)... well, the prices are still high, but way less the the ones you find in the stores! I think that stores like this got really busy with the recession! The best thing to do is go there every once in a while and maybe you'll find a great deal..

Pizza Cone!

Ho appena scoperto che esiste la pizza in cono.. non sono certa che sia una buona trovata, e che il sapore sia buono.. ho letto un sacco di recensioni negative tranne una che diceva: almeno nn ti sgocciola olio da tutte le parti! Se siete nei paraggi... date uno sguardo! Per quanto mi riguarda, non penso di essere ancora pronta per questo.. dalla foto mi sembra un gelato e non penso di riuscire a mangiare un cono che sa di pizza..!!!

I just found out that now you can have your pizza in a cone... i am not really sure if this is a good or a bad idea, i have read a lot of bad reviews about it.. but the good note is that oil doesn't drip from this one! If you are in the mood for something new.. give it a shot! For what i am concerned.. i'll wait a little more! i can't see me eating a cone that looks like icecream and then tastes like pizza..!!

Ho usato spesso qusto colore d'inverno, ma ad essere sincera, anche per l'estate non e' niente male! Soprattutto sui piedi!

I've used this color a lot during the past winter, but i must admit, i really like in the summer too! Specially on my toes!

Da quando mi sono trasferita qui a Ny il mio gusto in quanto arredamento e' cambiato notevolmente..
